No matter what profession an individual hopes to enter, there are always various factors that need to be taken into consideration. Those factors include education, money, location, and assistance programs. Well, becoming a truck driver is just like any other profession in this regard, and it all starts with the first item on the list... education.
 

As I stated earlier, in 1992 I became an over-the-road truck driver. In the fall of that year, my father passed away. When you're driving down the road in a big truck, you have the opportunity to do lots of thinking. 4) Test and receive your CDL. The CDL is required for anyone who wants to drive tractor trailers, buses, tow trucks, and other trucks which way at least 26,000 pounds. Most states require the future driver to be at least 21, although there are states that will issue a CDL to ages as low as 18. Professional truck drivers are required to obtain a CDL - a commercial driver's license in order to maintain truck driver jobs. To get a CDL, you must take a test at your local DMV, which consists of a written portion and a driving portion. Though schooling is not required, it is highly recommended you attend a Truck driving school before you take the test so you can receive proper training to help you pass.

Many schools will also offer financial aid. The money you are required to put up front is sometimes a big limiting factor on what type of school you can attend. Offering financial aid can open up your opportunities. Find out how long it will be before you are required to begin making payments after graduation. Most schools will allow you 3-6 months before you start making payments.

Before you take multiple dogs in your vehicle along with you, put together a master plan about the best way to get us both out of the vehicle. At any time you do not have a plan we definitely will each bounce out just as soon as the car door is open. This can be cause bedlam.
